Backes & Strauss x Theo Fennell Regent Watch

We have collaborated with many great watchmakers to make small, limited editions over the years and it has been a really enjoyable, creative process.

Theo worked with the wunderkind of British watchmakers Roger Smith, in his earliest days, on a series of 3 watches, one of which sold recently for $620,000.

He worked with Franck Muller when he was barely known through a dozen different joint editions, all of which sold out before issue, and with the more established Jaeger-LeCoultre to produce a small edition of men’s and women’s Reversos, the first time an independent designer had ever done this. These also sold out. More affordable and fun series were done with Jacob and Technomarine.

Some years ago Theo became involved with Backes and Strauss through their diamond and jewellery business and the very start of their making magnificent watches so it seemed right that, with the move to Chelsea Barracks and our history we should make a watch together. The result is the Rainbow.
