Gilded Youth

The Gilded Youth programme is our own into initiative to give a voice to emerging young jewellery and silver talent, and to support and nurture the master jewellers of the future.

Through this we sponsor prizes, awards and programmes for both Secondary and College Students – including the RCA, Central St Martin’s and the Goldsmith’s Centre among others – to help them prepare for the future and promote the extraordinary young talent we have in this country.

CSM

Central St Martins is one of the most famous art colleges in the world. We currently sponsor their degree show, their end of year prizes and design a competition to design the best piece around stones, which we provide. We then take the winners under our wing while we make up their pieces and display them in our gallery. Theo, an honorary Fellow of the UAL, also spends time at Central Saint Martin’s mentoring and advising the students throughout their course.

RCA

The Royal College of Art is the most successful and prestigious art college in the world. Theo regularly visits and mentors the students. For over 10 years we have judged, voted and given out Theo Fennell prizes on the first day of their July show for Overall Winner, Best in Silver, Best in Jewellery and two highly commended awards. Winners’ work is then showcased in our gallery for a week in September, launched with a party for students, clients and media.

Jessica Pass

Winner of the RCA Stone design award 2017, Jessica Pass returned in 2019 to showcase her first fully formed collection, ‘Curios’ in the Theo Fennell Gallery. Her love of nature and fascination with beetles led to Intricate golden sculptures of insects and fauna, hinged to contain the unexpected, created to adorn the body.
